Plenty To Ponder For Mourinho Heading Into Chelsea Crunch Clash

Under fire manager Jose Mourinho has more than his fair share of headaches heading into Saturday's pivotal clash
Despite Manchester United's comeback against Newcastle, Jose Mourinho has plenty to worry about heading into Saturday's showdown against former club Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Manchester United not only have a poor record away from home, but Mourinho has to deal with the scrutiny regarding his position as the Red Devils' manager.

Before the international break there were reports of Mourinho's dismissal being on the horizon heading into their clash against Newcastle. United's win seems to have stalled that and now Mourinho is playing for his job as he has to produce a result of some note against a Chelsea side high on confidence.

Not only do Mourinho's men have to contend with a high flying team, but they'll also be tasked in toppling a team they haven't beaten away from home in the past six years.

As if that wasn't enough to deal with, United also have the possibility of at least eight first team regulars missing out on Saturday's game. Nemanja Matic who'd play an important part in stopping Chelsea is set to miss Saturday's showdown at the Bridge and will be joined by midfielder Jesse Lingard who isalso on the side lines as well as Marcos Rojo. It's not clear whether Luke Shaw will be able to feature on Saturday  as well while Maroune Fellaini's situation reportedly doesn't look good either.

Ander Herrera and Scott McTominay are also doubts too as United could face a shortage in midfield.

All this doesn't make for good reading for Mourinho's efforts to turn United's fortunes around and at the moment it seems it not only does it rains but it pours for Mourinho.

Topping everything on the list is the possibility of Mourinho's status as a toptier manager ending at the club where he once made his name and had famously contributed to in making them a force on the world stage.
