A Battle of Contrasting Fortunes In League Headliner As EPL Returns

Chelsea welcome Man United to Stamford Bridge with the odds firmly in their favour
After yet another international break, its business as usual as league action resumes in the English Premier League. Kicking off proceedings is a mouth watering clash with joint table toppers Chelsea hosting Manchester United who are looking to get their season back on track.

On form, on song and at the top of their game,  so far this season, Chelsea are currently undefeated and have come as a surprise too as they're right up there with early season favourites Liverpool and champions Manchester City. This has all been due to the good work of new manager Mauricio Sarri who's brought the Blues to life with are more enthusiastic and exciting brand of football.

This has had a positive effect on star man Eden Hazard who's been on a tear in the league with 7 goals and 3 assists. Lining up against United Hazard will be looking to improve on what looks to be his best season yet in Chelsea colours against an opponent Chelsea enjoy playing against at home.

Chelsea haven't lost a match against the Red Devils in all competitions at Stamford Bridge since 2012, and will take confidence in the fact that Jose Mourinho's men have failed to find the net on their last three visits to Stamford Bridge.

On top of that Chelsea also won their most recent meeting against United when they lifted last season's FA Cup in a 1-0 win.

Another thing working in Chelsea's favour is United's tendency of not fairing well away from home against the top six as they've only won 2 out of 15 games under Mourinho.

For Manchester United though, despite that statistic they've shown some improvement away to their rivals as both those wins occured last season. The standout victory from those wins being their comeback win at the home of the champions Manchester City.

Taking into consideration their latest come back against Newcastle, the Red Devils still have that famous fighting spirit that they've been known for over the years.

What also holds key is United's ability to perform when they have their backs against the wall with Mourinho having come under fire before their terrific come back, Saturday's fixture is a great opportunity for United to pull off a performance they can use to turn their season around.

And of course with Mourinho in the dug out anything is possible and fans may yet play witness to another tactical masterclass from the Special One.
